Why don’t you just buy the building?

We’ve offered. Repeatedly.

We’ve even asked the current owner to name their price.

At the moment, Landrose Ltd do not wish to sell.

The Land Registry listings confirm that Wetherspoons sold the site privately to Landrose for £800k

The money to buy the site would come from one of the developers we have engaged with who have agreed to the following in principle:

1. Buy the site from Landrose.
2. Give us a 99-year lease on the cinema and food hall areas for £1.
3. Build family-quality accommodation with a registered provider of social housing on the upper floors.

Multiple developers with national portfolios are willing to pursue this vision with us.

We remain open to buying the site.
